Our Faith
The genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes . . .
THE BIBLE (Old and New Testaments) is the verbally (every word) and plenary (complete) inspired word of God in all parts and therefore is wholly without error as originally given of God.
MAN was made in the image of God by special creation and has not evolved from some lower form of animal. He willfully sinned against God and thereby incurred spiritual and physical death. He is a sinner by birth and by choice.
JESUS CHRIST was God come in the flesh, born of a virgin, crucified on the cross for all men, buried and arose again the third day.
HEAVEN is a prepared place only for those who have taken Christ as their Savior. It is a literal place for all the redeemed.
HELL is a lake of fire prepared by God for the Devil and his angels plus all who die without Jesus Christ as their Savior. It is a literal place of torment.
SALVATION is a gift of God. All men need to be saved and are totally helpless to save themselves. Men must be saved by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as their own personal Savior from sin and hell.
THE LOCAL CHURCH is a body of believers assembling for worship and service, and commissioned to take the Gospel into all the world.
BAPTISM is God’s specified manner of making public confession of Jesus Christ as personal Savior in the age in which we live (Acts 2:41; 8:36-38 10:47 cf Matt. 28:19). Since it is a human work it has no part in salvation (Eph. 2:8-9), but it is the outward testimony of an inward decision, namely the transfer of our trust from self to Christ. We baptize by immersion because the meaning of the word in the original Greek is to submerge, and because every instance of water baptism in the New Testament allows for this mode.
THE LORD’S SUPPER Jesus Christ invited all believers in Himself to remember Him by partaking of elements symbolic of His broken body and shed blood ( 1 Cor. 11:23-26). He did not specify how often this should be done. The death of Christ is a most important and foundational event for every Christian since on the cross He died as a substitute for sinful men. The believer in Christ therefore cherishes the privilege of worshipping God around the Lord’s Table as He requested. We choose to do this weekly.
And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.
Revelation 20:15
What must I do to be saved?” So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved.
